Entrepreneur 0 to 1. For IT Professionals

Why you should stop building for others and turn IT skills into Your Empire.

Hey, what’s up entrepreneurs,

Is there anyone here from IT? or connected in some way? maybe have friends there?

I hope yes. If not you can skip this letter…

…or continue reading about such important things in business as a comfortable sofa, employees who never complain, and how to 14X your money in one day!

Let’s go!

You know, these days everyone can start their own business and distribute to millions of people: AI, no-code website builders, SaaS, online courses, self-publishing of books, social platforms...

And yet, those in IT have an advantage - they can leverage the power of technology, set up and validate their business ideas by spending no more than a few hours a day, continuing working on their 9-to-5 job.

Let's dive into how leveraging your IT expertise offers unique advantages to make money even while you sleep:

💻 Scale and Distribution

In IT, you harness the web, the ultimate distribution system. You know how to (or who can) easily build a SaaS, website, or app. If you are lucky, even your tweet with a product prototype can lead to millions of people.

Can a coffee shop prototype be so intriguing that I would buy a ticket from Barcelona just to come and have a cup of coffee? It must be fucking amazing coffee shop! 🤣

🤖 Effortless Replication

Digital products, once developed, can be duplicated with minimal cost.

With no physical constraints, your business produces as many products as there is demand, maximizing profit around the clock with a near-zero cost for unit replication.

For example, when we reach 10K email subscribers, our newsletter platform will charge us an additional 40$ per month, and with 100K plus another 40$. Good we are two, so we can split and it will be 20$ per head… 😉

💤 Passive Income

The true power of IT-driven businesses - the ability to generate passive income.

Thanks to Steve Jobs and Bill Gates, computers don’t complain. Automation and online platforms keep business alive 24/7, ensuring a continuous revenue stream.

Neither your business goes on vacation nor sleeps, even if you do 💤

📈 Industry Multiplier

In the tech world, asset value skyrockets with industry multipliers.

Let’s look at the formula that defines the cost of your digital assets:

Asset Value = Net Profit X Industry Multiplier;

For IT, Industry Multiplier is considered in the range of 6x to 14x!

So, following this simple equation, we can see that a well-executed digital product isn't just a project, it's a potential million-dollar asset and young retirement. 🏝️

📚 Content as an Asset

Utilize online platforms like blogs, YouTube, Udemy, Instagram, etc., to create and monetize content when you have no load at work(like me today).

Your expertise and knowledge can become a revenue stream. 💰

🤝 Your Network

In IT, you're never alone. And here’s why you are lucky:

  • You have access to a network of developers, marketers, sales, product owners, business people, etc. These connections can provide insights, partnership opportunities, and support.

  • With platforms like LinkedIn, you have a ready-made audience to market or share your products.

💼 Learning from Corporate

Working in IT gives you an inside view of business operations. Understanding processes, agility, and strategies from an existing business can be invaluable for your entrepreneurial journey.

🧠 Tech Advantage

As an IT professional, you understand the nuances and importance of technology in business.

This is a perspective that’s invaluable in today’s market, especially in industries that are yet to fully embrace technology, or once embraced stopped innovating 10 years ago…

Some friends of mine can replicate companies they are currently working on in a few months.

Flexibility for Side Hustles

Often, working in IT allows the flexibility to explore side projects, which can evolve into major business ventures. Whether it be your website, online courses, or writing a book you will still have a stable income and no apparent risks.

Sure thing there are a lot more of it but I don’t want to bother you with endless lists. And while you've already become a millionaire in your mind, it's time to move on to execution!

From what to start

  1. Start working on shifting your mindset from being a part of the system to building the system. To start identifying opportunities in problems, bad services, dislikes, frustration, etc.

  2. Think about the practical knowledge you have, your strong skills, and unfair advantages… Identify how can you use your current job to learn, practice, validate approaches, and get different expertise, help, and support.

  3. Never stop learning, but execute the ideas you have. Learn to reduce the time from idea to execution and remember the first product will always suck, though it shouldn’t stop you.
